My Covid 19 workshop
Hey everyone. My recent retirement was supposed to be a combination of travel and learning some woodworking skills. As a result of Melbourne’s lockdown I have been setting up my man cave and acquainting myself with the absolute very basics of woodworking. I currently have an obsession with small boxes and am yet to produce one without faults but each one is better than the last.
i am looking forward to picking up tips from this forum.

Thank you
This is my first forum and I think navigating my way through will be as challenging as getting my dovetails right.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum..
There are quite a few member up central Queensland, a stack members around Brisbane and cross South East Queensland plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie

Welcome! I share your box-making habit - my workshop is full of all manner of too-fancy boxes, with junk in them. Wife got a bunch of dovetail-practice boxes to put her oils in, and thought I'd spent lots of time making them just for her. Ssssshhhh

Welcome Vintage. Yes boxmaking is very addictive and I really enjoy it too. Got introduced to it about 18 months ago and find it is great for improving your skills as every little mistake stands out on a small item. You will enjoy your progress so make sure you keep a few early ones to look back on.
Have a look at the Boxmaking forum here for some inspiration.
Cheers,Dallas
