    Default Another newbie from Brisbane

Hi all, I'm new in these parts and thought this would be a good first stop!

I've been mucking around with a bit of woodwork here and there over the years, making little pieces for around the house, but I'd always been a little hamstrung for space -- we live in a townhouse and my work area amounts to a corner of a single car garage with the possibility of spilling into the driveway if needed. Lately, however, I've caught the bug a little more strongly and have been slowly upgrading my tools. Nothing fancy or top of the line, but recently I've picked up things like a little trim router and a portable table saw which have opened up some possibilities that didn't exist for me before -- or were a lot more inconvenient, at least. It may also put me offside with the neighbours ... we'll see what happens with that, I guess!

In any case, I found this forum and thought it looked like a great place to pick up some tips and tricks from those with a bit more experience than me. I've been watching a bunch of YouTube videos on joinery and dovetails and so on, so I'm going to try and practice a bit of that, maybe try my hand at making some small boxes, and then have a go at anything else that piques my interest sufficiently.

    So, yeah, hi!

Just like you have been on a tool upgrade binge over the last few months, once the woodworking bug bites it becomes very addictive.

Have only been on this forum for a month or so and has already been amazingly helpful and am sure will be even more so moving forward.

    Anyhoo..welcome.

    Çheers,

    Rudy
