Default Hi I'm new and seeking advice

    Hi Woodworkers,

My name is Marty and I'm handy with tools around the house. Do simple wood working to make sure the house and storage needs are sorted. One day when time permits I might launch into something more fun. For a while I was interested in old tools and started gathering a few. I'm now wanting to sell a couple of things but I don't know where to turn to figure out what kind of value they might be... if anything at all.

I was wondering whether some people in this forum might be able to help.

    There are two tools.

    1. Stanley Mitre Box No. 346, Frame no. 3, with a Distan 26 x 4in Back Saw. It is working well. The saw has been professionally cleaned and sharpened. Some research I've done indicates that it might be worth anywhere from AUD $100 - $300. I have photos if someone is interested to see them.

    2. A L. H. Olmsted's (made in America) - this is a basic box that you would slide the timber through and cut it with a hand saw. There is no frame to guide the saw. Photos available.

If someone is willing to point me in the right direction and even have a look and let me know what they think, I would be grateful.

    Thanks

    Marty
