Carbatec 8” jointer versus woodfast 8” jointer
Hi I’m in the market do a jointer I don’t no what one to buy if has to be 8” and have a helical Cutterblock the Carbatec one is $2700 and the wood fast is $2090 I have a Carbatec Thicknesser and I’m amazed with the cut it produces is the longer bed on the Carbatec Whitt’s it and as well as the name so I can have my machines match

which thicknesser are you comparing things to? If their lunchbox "spiral head", "helical" unit,
TH-BX330P, then that's a segmented head unit and not like their spiral head in theCTJ-350X (now JN-X200C) unit.... I'd only expect it'll be a better finish, not worse. There's plenty of straight bladed C'tec's out there (and by now probably a decent number of the spiral ones too).

The woodfast has more power as well as saving you some dollars. Hare and Forbes 8'' jointer with the extra spiral head is cheaper again and also the full 2hp.
