To good to be true?
I just want to give a major plug to Mik international. Anyone thinking of purchasing something woodworking somewhere else should read this!
I purchased a D4 dovetail jig from MIK at show prices and negotiated free freight with my hard earned tax cheque refund. The package arrived and I eagerly opened it to discover that something really really heavy must have been placed on top of the carton causing damage to the D4. I took some pics of the damage and emailed them to Mik International with a "what can be done" question. Less than 5mins later the phone rang and a guy called Tony said "no worries, we will just send you another one". So I said "....but the damage not your fault, looks like Aus Post". He said it doesn't matter we will sort it out.
A couple of days later arrives the replacement D4 (not just the broken bit) wrapped ever so carefully in bubble wrap and over wrapped in tough paper with a note saying "....hope everything is okay please find enclosed a couple of complementary cutters....happy woodworking... Tony from MIK".
Well I am just a little gob smacked by a service I have not seen before and I would highly recommend ordering from MIK in the future.
I must admit I did consider ordering this item from Lee Valley online to save a couple of dollars but am really glad I didn't.
Thank you MIKPart Time Wood Filler
