I tested out some Treatex traditional hardwax oil on some hardwood bench outdoor seats I made and the results were excellent. Needless to say, the Treatex product is designed for interior hardwood floors so within a month of being outdoors the hardwax oil started peeling and looking like a crap varnish. Is there such a thing as an exterior hardwax oil? I suspect that I really need an exterior oil designed for decking and re-apply that each season?
