Toadium!.
We have a few fruit trees - and a problem with fruit bats. So I took the nets that I have used
to cover a couple of the trees and laid them out On the concrete area around the pool.
First net, pretty reasonable with only a short time needing to be spent on untangling and removing
the odd twig and pieces of dried grass.
Second ne was a different story as it had a couple of relatively small desiccated cane toads entangled in it.
I knew this was the case as when I removed the net earlier this year. I not only saw them but detected their
odorous decay, I decided that leaving them to fully decay and dry out was better than dealing with them on the spot.
Ever tried to remove a desiccated toad from its entanglement in a net? I thought not!! It took almost 21/2 hours to
remove the mongrels!! I do not know how to avoid the problem again this year so any suggestions are welcome!!
