Hello from down south
Hi All,
Used to be into woodworking in a major way at high school (way too long ago) and have dabble a bit in home stuff since but have had limited facilities to really give it a good go.
I have recently bought a 10 acre "farm" which has a 4 bay machinery shed and very large two bay garage. Now it's time to re-tool and re-skill myself with some basic home projects now that I have room to move.
I am lucky enough to have been given a Carba-tec Jointer and dust extractor, so will need a sparkie to install the 15amp circuit for that before I can get myself into real trouble.
I am also interested in exploring the old school methods such as shaving horse and draw knife for dressing timber, maybe even splitting my own timber from trees on the farm. This is more a medium term thing I think as I want some quick wins first up.
Mike

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Mike".
There are quite a few members across the Tassie area plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie

Will try to get some things started so that I can put WIP pics up
At the moment I am sorting out basics around the 10 acres (drainage, fencing, etc...). Spent yesterday digging a drain along the driveway (70 - 80m of 130m done) to stop the water eroding large groves across the drive.
