Hello from Scotland
Good evening, I have registered with the forum some time ago but have not been active, so I do apologise. I will try to be more diligent and involved in future. My background was in Technical Teaching in various Secondary Schools in the Glasgow area in Scotland, however I retired several years ago and have continued to indulge myself in my hobbies. They are mainly wood orientated and I have recently enjoyed turning with my small Axminster Lathe. I am also trying to take flattering photographs of my work, but failing. Probably due to my lack of photographic skills, equipment and poor turning skills. I'm sure I can conjure up more excuses given time, but I genuinely enjoy the experiences I have working with wood and intend to continue. I will try and post some of my efforts in the near future.

G'Day & Welcome to the Great Southern Land and to a top forum "John".
There are quite a few members from the UK plus Europe and the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.....
Cheers from On Top DownUnder, crowie

Welcome to the forum, I hope you get lots out of it.
I was glad to be able to read your post, as I always thought Glaswegians had a different language to English
My dear late grandmother was from Carluke, just a wee bit south of 'Glaasscow', so I think warmly of the west coast of Scotland. She had that delightful burr when she spoke. Can still remember it vividly, even though she died back in 1950's.
One of my favourite movies was "My name is Joe" , set in Glascow, and it had English subtitles embedded in the video, to make it understandable for us.
Looking forward to seeing some of your work, so hurry up and get ready, coming into summer over there, so you might be able to get something made that weekregards,
Dengy
