Gidgee Logs
My name is Greg. I am General Manager at PR Firewood and have worked there for almost 20 years.
Having come across a lot of quality firewood timber, nothing compares to what we were burning for charcoal, Acacia Cambagei or "Gidgee".
First Batch
A total of 13 trees translated into 750kg of boards. We started selling the Gidgee as rough sawn boards in December 2017.
The one "black" log sold immediately as did the dark red one. All the thicker pieces suitable for turning were next to go. There is about 250kg of boards (15/03/2018) still available, mostly 25mm thick, there are a few 40mm thick.
Second Batch is ready for milling. Does someone want to mill some Gidgee Logs for us? Either Gold Coast or 100km west of Bundaberg.

Third Batch of 20 tonnes is waiting in the desert to be picked up.
The log weight is on the end.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Greg",
There are a stack of members in Brisbane, around the Gold Coast & Tweed areas plus the S.E. Queensland plus the rest of the world.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Thanks for the timber photos, as a toy making I'd love to get a hold of some of your smaller off cuts to use a highlights on the toys, but a little too far to drive to say "G'Day".
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie
