Default Linseed oil on tea-light candle holders

Newbie question coming up... I've just made my very first tea-light candle holders from merbau, and oiled them with boiled linseed oil. Given the warnings about high combustibility (yes, I'm soaking the rags in water before I chuck them), wouldn't this present a risk to the naked flame...?

As long as the oil penetrates the wood and dries it won't be a problem. The dried oil forms a semi hard layer that will be about as flammable as the wood.
