    Default Men Doing Laundry

I feel it is my duty to warn everyone of a major problem, one that
endangers lives, damages property and causes untold misery, a growing
menace that can be summed up in three words: men doing laundry.

At first glance, MDL may not seem like a big problem, especially to
members of the female species, who generally prefer MDL to WDL. But
the evidence is overwhelming. MDL has resulted in millions of
discoloured clothes, billions of missing socks, and countless broken
    relationships.

Wife: "Did you remember to separate the clothes before washing them?"
Husband: "Yes, of course I did. I put the whites at the bottom and
    the colours on top."
    Androgens Order
Forgive your enemies, but never, ever forget their names.
The stupid neither forgive nor forget; the naïve forgive and forget; the wise forgive but never forget.

SWMBO does washing. I have dozens of odd socks.

Discriminatory sign in laundry "Whites and colors must be separated".

Some years ago I was working temporarily in Dallas, Texas. I would listen to the same radio station in the rental car every morning from the hotel to the computer site. Every morning the disk jockey would do a call in quiz based up some study or survey.

One morning, the quiz question was, "What is the one thing that 97% of women do not trust a man to do?" The first three or four callers, men, offered ridiculous answers. The first woman that called in, answered "Laundry", obviously correct.

    It gets better.
When I got home to the Los Angeles area I relayed the story to my SWMBO, who said, "That's why you're only allowed to move the washing machine when needed."

By arrangement of household duties I do most of the laundry but SWMBO generates most of the items needing laundry, mainly horse riding clothes. We also have a spare machine up against the shed for the washing of horse rugs, blankets etc. This machine drains onto the back lawn so its gets a small regular dose of horse manure along with the water.

As a result of this most of SWMBO's underwear is pink, green or blue or grey. She hasn't said anything but and I noticed recently she has resorted to buying strong coloured versions and she separates anything white she doesn't want to get recoloured..

Note to all men. To avoid having to use the Wm, fill it with all her clothes then add a nice new dark blue towel. You will never be asked to wash again.

And that's how the fight started...

I told SWMBO about this thread and she reminded me of an expensive worn only once pale pink shirt of hers that I washed and whatever else was in the wash turned it bright orange. I suggested that she can wear it while binge watching the "orange is the new black" TV series on Netflix - and that's when it got ugly.

    for a few weeks...

"Honey, the WM isn't draining properly...Must be that crap you leave in your working strides" ( ie: I have been known to get screws and nails and the odd coin in there...)

Ok My Darling, I'll have a look (
finally!, she says, rubbing her hands together, while hovering over me, ready to jump on everything I pull out)

After the 4th of 11 YES -11 Bobby Pins, she was nowhere to be seen? I also scored about $10.00 in gold coins, and a couple of screws (unseen)

    Sweet victory

Makes mental note for the next time I have to unblock the WM - have a pocketful of bobby pins ready
