    Default Todays funnies

I have read that, by law, you have to turn on your headlights when it's raining on Sweden.
How the hell am I supposed to know if it's raining in Sweden?

A man sitting in a Dentists chair asks, "I keep hearing about Bluetooth, what's the best way to prevent it??"

I had a really bad day. First, my Ex got run over by a bus.
Then I got fired from my job as a bus driver!!!

I wasn't planning on going for a run today,
But those cops came out of nowhere!!

    A History Lesson.
Do you know what happened 166 years ago, this summer, September 6. 1851?
California became a state! The people had no electricity, the state no money, almost everyone spoke Spanish.
There were gunfights in the streets.
So basically NOTHING has changed, except that women had real t??s and the men didn't hold hands!
And that my friends is the history lesson for today

    Headlights / True Story

California passed a law saying that if you windshield wipers were on, your headlights must also be on.

There was a NASCAR home town series race at the track in Irwindale. As usual the track tries to create some Hoop-la in the parking lot and the area just outside the track. The California Highway Patrol had one of their 'display' cars at the track with a few public information officers, PIOs.

As we were walking in I stopped at the CHP area. One of the PIO approached and I said, "I have a dumb question." The PIO puffs up his chest and says, "There is no such thing as a dumb question." I responded, "California just passed a law that my headlights must be on if I'm using my windshield wipers." PIO, puffing his chest out even more, "Yes sir, that is correct." Then I said, "If my windshield wipers are on intermittent, should my headlights be on intermittent also?" At that point we both started laughing and PIO said, "You were right. That is a dumb question."

Maybe not so dumb. A few years later the state legislature changed the law to say that if the windshield wipers were intermittent then the headlights didn't need to be on.

In Sweden, headlights must be on whenever the car is running, rain or shine.

I believe that Canada has the DRL rule also.

Way back, mid 1960s or so one of the service clubs in Volusia county, Florida was selling and installing Daytime Running Lights. It was just a white light attached to the center of the vehicle grill. It was kind of weird to see vehicles approaching with the extra light. I know that if one of those vehicles was ever driven into California the Highway Patrol would go nuts and a ticket would be likely.

Manufacturers must get the lighting schemes for their vehicles approved by the CHP before they can be sold in the state. I've not seen but been told that manufacturers send vehicle mock ups on plywood to Sacramento for approval during the very early stages of design.
