Sticky floor after applying Synteko Solid Oil
Hello,
I've a big problem with the "Syntkeo Solid" oil and I hope you can give me some informations/ideas.
Problem
I've a NEW floor (about 100m²) made out of larch and used the "Synteko Solid" oil.
But too much of it! I know now...
On the same day when we applied the oil, we started to polish the floor but it seems it's not working very well.
So we waited until the next day and did the polish when we thought it's ok.
Unfortunately the wood is still sticky and shiny after 2 weeks of drying.
Maybe possible solutions (I see so far)
1, sand the floor
Note: maybe the sanding paper will get sticky in seconds and damage the floor or I'll have to use thousands of them.
2, use chemicals (thinner/solvent)
We thought about to use THE thinner/solvent which the oil is made of to remove the excess layer.
Unfortunately we don't know the thinner/solvent.
Thanks a lot from little Austria!

Bernhard I don't know anything about Syntkeo oil, but if I had your problem with any other finish I would try harder to dry it before beginning the nightmare of dissolving (probably wont work) or sanding it off.
It must dry eventually, no matter how thick you put it on. It needs warmth and air flow to do this. Hot (warm) fans would be the best way to create this. Otherwise, any heating method should do the trick. May require a full week of this.
Good luck!!Rusty
