Default Berry NSW to Richmond 3121 (or anywhere in Melbourne really)

I am looking at an item on epay that I want to bid on but the item is in Berry and is pick up only. Is anyone coming through there to anywhere in Melbourne and has room for an item that is probably 300 x 300 x 900 and 15 kg? More than happy to pay for the service.

Failing that, what service have others used to transport items like this?

I have found e-go couriers to be more economical than most. Especially if you can do depot to depot.

Thanks Amrjon, I will look them up.
Kryn, The auction finishes on Tuesday and I will pay them straightaway but I assume that I would have a week or so to have it picked up.

Turns out the auction finished this morning and not tomorrow but no matter as I won the item anyway. Now all I need to do is to get it home!

Have you got a time frame in mind? If I can arrange things it would not arrive in Horsham until possibly mid October if all goes to plan. Or I could pick it up now and see if anyone is going South before then.

    Gday Chris,
Thanks for your reply,I am not in a huge rush to get hold of the item but out of respect for the seller I would like to get it picked up from them sooner rather than later. I don't follow your reference to Horsham, it is little far from me in Melbourne to pick up!

Seller also now tells me that the item is 500 x 500 x 750 and 8-9kg, plus packaging which I guess would just be a cardboard box.

I would be posting it at that size.

The seller wasn't keen on posting for some reason although was happy to package the item up for a courier. I just looked at the auspost website and the cost is only marginally less than for a courier but I would expect the courier to be more reliable. I might just go down that route.
    Thanks

Tools, I live just outside Berry, and could pick up the package for you. Could hold it here for as long as necessary.

Will be going up to Sydney in the next week or so, so with Chris' permission, could drop it off at his place.

However, Amrjon's suggestion of e-go couriers is a good one. When I gave away some magazines last year, I just sealed them in a carton, and Evanism (in Canberra) arranged an e-go courier to pick it up from my home. I'd be happy to do that for you.

If depot to depot is significantly cheaper, I could drop it off at the E-go depot at Berkeley, again when next going up to Sydney.

Thanks for the replies and offers guys. Just to keep it simple I have booked for a courier to pick up on Monday, but do appreciate all offers of assistance.

For those that may be needing interstate courier services, I ended up using TNT (Transdirect) and it cost me $73 including insurance which was door to door. The item was picked up on Tuesday and on my doorstep on Thursday morning. I also had a quote from e-go and that was more than $100 and that was door to depot so I still would have had to venture out and pick it up from there.
