aldav's Parallel Jaw Clamps
In August last year, I bought some parallel jaw clamps from David (aldav) - two each of the 620mm, 1025mm and 1280mm clamps. I told him I'd be happy to post a review after I'd given them a workout.. So here's a well and truly overdue review, prompted by David's mention of them being on sale again. (On this page - https://www.woodworkforums.com/f190/1...h-april-204003)
I have similar sizes of the Bessey K Body REVO clamps, so that is my main point of reference. As has been mentioned elsewhere, the jaws of aldav's clamps have a smaller surface area than the Besseys, but I haven't find this to be a disadvantage at any point. I've done quite a few glue-ups in recent times, from small to very big, and I've found aldav's clamps to be the equal of the Besseys in every way. The clamping pressure exerted feels very similar. When using them side by side, I don't notice much of a functional difference, aside from two ways in which I actually prefer aldav's: the sliding jaw seems to slide along the bar more easily, and I prefer the feel of the handle.
So, there you go. I have no affiliation with David, and paid the going rate for my clamps, which I will happily do again when I need more!
