I have just had the fright of my life getting an idea on basic window costs for an owner build in Kuranda in the Cairns hinterland which has a C2 cyclonic rating. While I knew their would be a premium on C2 rated glazing I did not expect it to cost five times what an identical window costs in Brisbane. From what I can see they feature 6mm strengthened glass but are otherwise identical. Am I missing something or have I just got a bad quote.
The house is still in the design phase and I was getting quotes on standard sizing that I see in Brisbane (ie Woodworkers Moorooka sizing)
Any recommendations, of a better glazer in Cairns or am I better off getting my windows made elsewhere.

Thank you for reading.
