Default a question re oil finishing and waxing

I am VERY new to oil and wax finishing. I am finishing a piece of jarrah at the moment with some Feats & Watson Scandinavian oil and I want to apply some wax at the end. I have been light sanding with a 400 grit paper between oil applications, do I sand between the last oil coat and the wax coat or just go straight to the wax after the last oil coat has dried???

Also any recommendations on the number of oil coats and number of wax applications???

    Cheers all.

Daz, I would wait a few days for the final coat to cure then level by lightly rubbing with some 0000 steel wool, less harsh than 400 grit paper. It should now feel really smooth. Wipe or vacuum off any dust left from the steel wool and then apply some wax with a lint free cloth then buff by hand or an electric buffer. Another coat of wax might be what you prefer but you should end up with a lovely smooth satin finish.

    Thanks Barri.

Appreciate it, I'll follow that path.
