Is this window flashing adequate
No subject confuses me more then window flashing.
I'm wanting to put some blue board up around some old aluminium windows, and I'm wanting to know if the I can just go ahead or whether I should be fitting some other type of flashing.
I've attached a couple of photos of the windows as they stand - one showing top flashing and one showing bottom flashing.
At the top of the window, there isn't really any flashing - its just that the inside lip of the channel (which is the top element of the window) projects upwards about 35mm. I was thinking I could fit the blue board so that it hung down to just above the bottom of the channel. This would mean the inside lip projected up behind the lower edge of the blueboard for about 30mm. Is that adequate ?
The photo of the lower side says it all - is that all I need ?
In terms of where the windows are situated, the top of the windows are 390mm below the suffit linings, which are 450mm wide. All second storey.
cheers, and thanks for the advice
