Default Disston D8 Thumbhole 4ppi rip saw

Disston's thumbhole rip saw in their D8 model is a classic and this is a particularly nice looking saw. The plate is clean and smooth and teeth are huge, but like all good rip saws progressive, starting at the toe with 5ppi. The plate is 28".

The handle is particularly nice. Although it is apple it has had a light mahogany stain added to the shellac which gives a very pleasing effect.

It has been jointed, shaped, set and sharpened. I had thought that it would have been ideally suited to soft wood only and it certainly flys though a piece of radiata, but when tried on some nuggety old hardwood I use as a comparison block it performed well there too. Plenty of depth to this saw.

I am listing this saw as an auction. Buyer will be responsible for ostage and payment is to be by direct transfer.

Thanks for looking and still more saws to come.

Forgot to mention that the top horn has a largish chip from the underside which can be seen in the pix.

Do you have a buy now price on this one? I'm thinking it'll make a good present for the old man.

    Hello Emit

Yes, the BIN price is $90, which is the same as the other thumbhole saw already sold. Postage would be $12.15 to Brisbane.
