Make Bi-folds from std internal doors?
Not wanting to waste stuff, and being a bit of a tightwad, I was wondering if it is possible to create some bifold doors from internal doors.
We have a double door opening on a study area that used to be a large-ish wardrobe. Unfortunately when open the doors swing out too far into the room (a bedroom converted to play/media room) and it is very cramped at the desk with the doors shut.
The two doors would potentially be cut in half, braced as required and hinged to become bi-folds and hence not take up too much room while open. The doors are currently 6 panel and a bit narrower than a std internal doorway.
Has anyone tried modifying internal doors in a similar way?
