Waldown 3M vs 8SN
Hi All,
I have a Waldown 8SN in good condition. I purchased it some years back from a bloke in Gippsland and unfortunately it has rusted up a bit as it was sitting exposed in the corner of his shed. Anyway I picked it up for the princely sum of $350 and a couple of hour drive. 2015-07-19 18.41.35.jpg
My question relates to the major differences between an 8SN and a 3M. Is it the same in construction apart from the belt tension mechanism and the twin quill pinch bolts? Or is the 3M much bigger in column, base and table?
More curiosity at the moment as there seems to be some iterations of these machines and they prices vary immensly.
Any insight from members is most appreciated!
Cheers

There is a lot of info re Waldown in the Antique tools and machinery area.
I suggest this post be transferred there.
