    Default Finishing courses in Melbourne?

I did a woodworking course a year ago and my new skills in woodworking are getting better, I've made a few simple pieces of furniture and really enjoying it. To date, all I've done to finish off my pieces which have mostly all been hard woods, is to oil or use bees wax. That finish is fine, but I want to try something a bit more dramatic. I've tried staining, distressing and painting but my results have been horrid. Can anyone recommend courses where I can learn various finishing techniques. Anywhere in Melbourne.

Check with Holmesglen TAFE. They used to run courses on some finishing methods.
