Question regarding best way to maximise lifespan of treated pine in the ground (supports for a structure).

In short, the structure is existing and no work is being done with the wood. But I'm finishing off a major reconstruction of the rest of the backyard.

At present, there is concrete about 150mm below the surface around the timber, then soil on top of that. So the timber is in direct contact with both soil and concrete.

Would it be wise to put some more concrete in so as to bring that up to surface level thus avoiding any direct soil contact with the wood? Or just leave it as it is?

I'm not looking at this from an aesthetic perspective, purely in terms of what's best for long term durability.

I'm in Tasmania - never heard of anyone having termites down here. I keep hearing stories about the other states where people get annual inspections etc for them, even chemical treatments, but never come across that here or heard of them being an issue. So my concern is basically about the wood going rotten etc.
