Repair timber surface dry rot
There was dry rot in the lower steps of the outdoor stairs and I replaced 8 threads and a couple of hardwood post. It all feels rock solid now. To keep the project physically and financially manageable I kept the risers. The timber risers are in pretty good condition but for the bottom front 300 mm which have surface dry rot. To visually repair the dry rot area I have tried Selleys Tradies Bog but have problem with the bog to adhere to the timber.
Can anyone think of a way for me to get a reasonable paintable surface for the problem area?
Thank you for your thoughts.
Chris
