Color matching problems
I have recently started repairing a pretty old dining table. One of the repairs is to touch up the very wide scratches that go through the finish only. No venner damage. I am fairly novice when it comes to restoration and minor surface repairs on old pieces. I succeeded when trying to match the stain back with the rest of the table top , if you are standing on the left of the table looking down the grain. When you stand on the right side looking down the grain it appears to be sort of bleached. The vennered top is walnut as well as the stain. what have I done wrong and is it fixable?
