Subflloor clearance and floor joists?
Hi,
I would like to extend a few rooms in my split level home approx.2.0 m, I have started excavation and can see that ground clearance is currentlyaround 200mm to bearer or 400mm to floor sheets.
Length of extension is approx. 11m x 2.0m, trying to provideas much ground clearance as possible and wondering what I should use forbearers, joist etc, should I use joist hangers attached to existing floorjoists and run at right angles to existing floor joist?
What timber type and size is needed for spans of approx. 2.0mat 450mm supporting floor loads only?
Just trying to get rough idea on materials and costs at this stage.
Thanks
