Hi folks.

I want to buy and install a security screen door at the front entrance to the house. Needs to be hinged on left, opening out from the front doorway, which is 790mm wide X 2001mm high.

The security screen doors I've seen or come across in secondhand ads on Gumtree etc are never to those width and/or height specifications. I assume there's some way to make adjustments so that a security door would fit. Would be most appreciative if some savvy DIYers could please give me a rundown on how I would make these adjustments (just general principles).

Also, can security screen doors be installed such that they are hinged on either the left or right, or is it a matter of selecting the correct door for what you want in the first place?

Finally, can a triple-lock be fitted to any security screen door, or is it horses for courses? Any recommendations for quality locks?

Cheers and HNY to all.
Ross
