Ah, the town gossips.

A while our wives were both away, a mate and I took our teenage daughters out for dinner.
One of the waitresses, a 'friend' of my wife, told her that we had taken a couple of girls to the club while she was away. No doubt she thought she had the inside goss.

Quite a few years ago, when I was separated, I took my sister to a club function, she is 12 years younger than me. It got back to ex wife (now) that I was out someone half my age. . That person was most embarrassed when the truth came out.

Yes, people can be such idiots.

2008, I was moving to Darwin from Bundaberg. My girlfriend had gotten a job up there and had flown up a few weeks before. I remained in Bundaberg to sort out a few things then I drove up with her daughter (17 at the time) coming with me for company. I was 48.

Our last night on the road was at the Threeways Roadhouse. We went into the bar/dining room to have dinner. I had a couple of beers before we ordered dinner, every time I went to the bar for a beer, this rather large "bogan" kept staring at me. I just tried to ignore his attention. We ordered our dinner and I had another couple of drinks while we waited, bought a soft drink for the stepdaughter, the usual father and daughter stuff. Our dinner arrived. I was nearly finished eating when over comes our "bogan" friend. He accused me of being a pedophile and heaped all sorts of abuse on me.

Lets just say that a physical altercation resulted, instigated by our bogan friend and finished by me.

I still do not know why he thought we were romantically involved or why he considered himself as the local guardian of morals. It turned out he was also just passing through.

Anyway, thats life
