Hi from Murwillumbah Northern NSW
Hello,
I love woodwork and have a great little workshop but always looking to learn more and get ideas. Hoping I will get lots on here but maybe meet some people in this area too.
I'm currently building my parents matching bookshelves and entertainment from Syrian cedar . I'm currently dressing the timber for the bookshelves but finding it difficult with my 200mm jointer of 230mm boards. Any suggestions?

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Jake".
There are a heap of members in and around the Tweed, Northern NSW & Gold Coast areas........
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork..
Cheers crowie

Hi,
I can relate. Bit annoying when your tools just don't cover all your needs.
I just recently , finally, got a wide jointer. Takes up to 450mm.
I don't mind facing those boards for you. (yes free. doesnt sound like much to do. no obligation. Don't worry no catch. I'm not an axe murder/rapist/pedifile or any other kind of stranger danger… or maybe thats whats they all say) I'm just down the road. Kyogle.
02 66323070 (best after 6pm. I have a mobile, but I'm not very alert to its ringing..)

Welcome to the forum.
I was going to suggest cutting them in half or using hand planes.

Yes I have been thinking about it for a while and have only done the edge on the wider boards before ripping it to either 100 or 150mm to then do the face and edge again, then gluing it up and thickness ing. Quite a long process.
Thanks for the offer jake? I'm away next week for two weeks but may take u up on the offer after that
