I plan to fit both fitted desks and shelves along walls from one end to the other so that there are walls on 3 sides.

Normally I would have used wooden battens all the way round the three sides to support the desks/shelves (plus legs on the free edge for long desks), but I gather aluminium angles is now the way to go. If so what size and thickness of angles should I use and where can I get these in white in Perth. Lastly at what intervsl (0.5m??) should I screw these to the walls?
