Carbatec scroll saws
Has anyone got any experience of these scroll saws. I have been told they are good copy of a well known brand. Is this true?

I have a 21" general, (many refer to this brand as Excalibur) bought nearly 10 months ago, hasn't missed a beat. Every time I use it I enjoy it more, just can't get to it enough SWMBO has all these other projects. Suppose I can't complain I get to use all my other "toys".
but you can google Excalibur reviews for more info - you will also find many a post within this forum. Carbatec have specials at the woodworking shows or to men's shed members or woodworking group members. About 10% off RRP.
cheers

The Carbatec CT-SS18V 18" variable speed scroll saw is supposed to be a copy of a Hegner and is similar to the Tru-Pro which I have. I believe, after a while, most owners upgrade the blade clamps to the superior Hegner pinless ones (which has been done with mine) but other than that I consider it is good value for money.
It is very stable with very little or no vibration.Russell (aka Mulgabill)

I to have a carbatec 18" variable speed saw which I have had for just over 12 months & like Mulgabill I have found it to be a top saw, there are probably better out there but depends on your budget, My saw came with pinless blade holders but I did purchase a hagner Quick release blade holder to make life easier.Once again very happy with my saw it goes well.
Cheers Peter.

Beware of carbatec! Some have been known to never come out once you enter, myself included. I can spend hours there.
