decking oil question
Hi
I'm new to this & computer illiterate so here goes. We've been renovating & finished putting a deck on the front of our house about 4 weeks ago. It's decision time for which oil or stain to use. We'd decided on Feast Watson then someone told us to use Lanotec. My wife isn't keen because we haven't seen it used & know nothing about it's use....on decks. I use it a lot in my workshop for garden tools with wooden handles & anything that looks like it will rust or stick (so I'm already a fan) but need to be convinced before I put it on the deck. The question about Lanotec was asked in an earlier post but no replies as yet so thought I'd ask again. Any more experiences with oils or stains would be great as well.
Thanks

I have used the frast watson and the wattly decking oil and get good results. I now use the wattyl as it is cheaper and gives the same result.
I can't help you with lanotec though.
I recommend that, once you have finished laying the deck, you clean it thoroughly as little black spots can often appear unless the wood is clean and dry before oiling.
Cheers

We used Sikkens on the decking and DWD on the surrounding timberwork. Have a look at comments and photos in this thread:
