    Default Hydraulic Jack Parts

Does anyone know where I would be able to get parts for hydraulic jacks? I need an oil plug for the one I use for lifting machines and I have just replaced the o-rings in the long ram on the lifting trailer. They were damaged because the mount for the pump section came loose, allowing the pump rods to lift too high. One of the bores is also a bit scored. I am going to see how it goes for now, but it would be good to know if parts were available.

These plugs are mushroom shaped rubber. The machine lifting device I made recently, pulled the plug out. It is probably around the shed still but I have not been able to find it. Probably under the lathe.

Can you draw me a sketch? I have to go to Fitch soon to get some rubber stops, so I could ask there.
(Apparently the brothers who owned it have now sold, so it will be interesting to see whether it has improved or gone down hill)

    Just a quick sketch.

Fitch the Rubber Man. I remember them well. Complete with the rubber doggie do in the window, etc. Adelaide Arcade or somewhere like that. Haven't been near there for about 30 years.

This is the Fitch offering - head diameter 18mm, shank 10.5 diameter, 13.5mm long. Any use for you or do I need to try one of the 'fore mentioned hydraulics places?

I think they are close enough to try Michael. The main issue would be the shank diameter as they are a tight fit already, but I don't think 0.5mm will make that much difference. I can shape them a bit if necessary. The head wants to be reduced in height a bit.

Thanks heaps for finding those Michael. I will drop off a bottle of red next time I am up your way, for your trouble.
