Broken lampshade repair?
ARGH
We managed to break a nearly new, large, opal glass shade on a table lamp. It fractured right on the edge of the shade, where it sits on the lamp. Spares are available but I shudder to know the cost...it wasn't a cheap lamp. I have no idea if the shade is inherently weak at the point where it sits on the fitting, or if it was just marginally overtightened. I suspect a repair won't be satisfactory because the shade is quite heavy.

Interested to know if anyone has had luck with glass repair using crystal araldite or similar? Or should I just bite the bullet and buy a replacement.
