    Default any one know what this device is for ?

    it was in a job lot i brought awhile ago , the post have it inner adjustable up and down via the thumb nail screw . the main bar is around 12" long and is V shaped . the post also welded in the V block and sliding a long with locking thumb nail screw too.

    I have a guess. Could be used to carry a mirror or a lens in an experimental optical bench.

    a quick search showing you are absolutely right .

    now i have to think for some useful thing's to use this instead of optical bench thing's.
