Default New radar for speeding drivers

OK, so it seems it's not so new after all...
Cleaning the workshop and found a few old magazines, which I naturally flicked through.

This one from a September 1947 edition of "Radio and Hobbies" which cost the princely sum of 6d. The latest technology in combating the speeding drivers comes in the form of radar detectors.
As can be seen by the article, it's designed to reduce the road toll and help reduce speeding. Nothing to do with revenue raising...
Before you know it, someone will stick a camera on the front, and it'll be all over then!

Ah, wait on a minute.......................................... haven't I seen this before?

I find it interesting that when it comes down to it, there's not much that's really new.

I have such fond memories of Radio and Hobbies Magazine. I used to get the hand-me-downs from our next door neighbour. They were only 15 years out of date, but things didn't change so quickly in those days.
Made my first crystal set from plans in one of these.
    Thanks for the memories.
    Cheers

The only thing new under the sun is the history you haven't learned.
