Battery Powered 3 blade razors
What the...?
Is the battery there just to make the handle glow a pretty green? Spin the blades like an electric plane?
Got me beat. I'm a power tool fan but ...Photo Gallery

Yeah, just another marketing ploy to make you buy even more crap you don't need.
What's wrong with an old-fashioned standard double-edge razor blade in a nice handle ? It shaves your face 'as close as a blade' (because it IS a friggin' blade), it's much more environmentally friendly than disposable razors as it's just a simple piece of metal that will eventually rust away to nothing plus it costs a heck of a lot less than falling for the old tricks they try to get you with when they redesign the handles every month so you've then got to go and buy new handles & blades each time. Grrrrr.
I've been using this 'old-fashioned' method for years now and it works a treat ... I even have a shaving brush to cream up the shaving soap and it too works beautifully ! The blades are available from Coles for about $11.00 for a pack of ten which isn't cheap but when you consider how many 'handles' you have to buy over time it turns out much more economic in the long run plus the container of shaving soap I bought from a local 'natural' type shop has lasted me well over a year and it only cost about $10.00 and contains no 'nasty' things at all.
I reckon the best way to advance these days is to go 'backwards' every once in a while. This is a perfect example.

a good marketing ploy would be to make a razor with resharpable blades (imagine the guy's on this forum after a night on the turps with their scarey sharp blades:eek

I remember speakign to a truckie once who said, that the highest value load you can carry is disposable razor blade cartridges. at $18 for a 40gm packet of 6 it adds up pretty quick. A semi can easily hold a few mill worth of razors, certainyl more than cigarettes.
This industry seems to be stuck in the rut of change and innovation for the sake of change an innovation. Perhaps we should go back to cutthroats and a strop?Cheers,
Adam

Hmmm, I wouldn't feel comfortable shaving with a 'cutthroat' ... it's kinda like renaming kettle to something like 'scaulding pot' or your car the 'mobile human masher' or something along those lines.
Ew.
