Attention all foilies
I was watching a series called "myth-busters" last night (momnday 7:30 SBS), and guess who I saw! OZWINNER, or atleast his illigitimate son.
The two guys who run the show were experimenting with Microwaves and one of the guys was constantly wearing a vast selection of foil beanies...
I believe that this series has been on DB* tv for a while .
* DB tv = Dole Bludger Tv.I try and do new things twice.. the first time to see if I can do it.. the second time to see if I like it

It's a great series run by two very serious lunatics. The foil hat wearer also loves microwaving CDs. He's nuts.
The show before last, they busted the old barrel of bricks story - the one where the bloke hauls a barrel up to the top of a building site, loads it with bricks, it falls to the ground dragging him up, collects him on the way, barrel breaks at the bottom, dumps the bricks etc.
Then there was the one where they busted the pissing on the live rail of an electric railway story
And then there was ...
Ahh, ya gotta watch it.
Cheers

I liked their innovative use for a nail gun, firing coins at each other.
If I do not clearly express what I mean, it is either for the reason that having no conversational powers, I cannot express what I mean, or that having no meaning, I do not mean what I fail to express. Which, to the best of my belief, is not the case.

They scared me a bit at first, but apparently they've been in the special effects game for donkey's years. If you watch enough of it, you realise that they do know what they are doing and the silly stuff, like firing the nail gun at each other, only happened after they knew how the thing would perform.
I knew a bloke who worked as a panel beater for a film company. He used to tell me that the idea was to make something work, to make it look good for the camera, rather than producing a pro job that someone would be proud of for ages. The cars he used to work on were as rough as guts but did the job. You can see that attitude coming out with these clowns. They seem to be able to do what is necessary to achieve their aim and not a lot more which, I suspect, is quite a skill. They certainly aren't dopes ... but I suspect they got the gig because they are both a tad on the nutty side.

They've been on pay TV for a while. It's been re-voiced over for SBS. Don't know why.
Watch for the episode where they investigate whether or not you do get sucked down with it when a ship sinks.

BUt do the foil hats work?
These blokes have a thing about big bangs, they really get excited when theres going to be an explosion.
The name of the show says it all, I for one really enjoy it.
7.30pm MOnday SBS and I think there is a repeat on Sunday PM.Stupidity kills. Absolute stupidity kills absolutely.

The point is though, it's a top show. If you don't like it because of the hosts'tash that is pretty sad. The stories are great. I'm sure their antics and ideas would be appreciated by most readers of this board.
Much better than all of the crap on the commercial channels. Like CSI, CSI Miami, CSI New York, CSI everywhere else!
Jeez I hate most US television. They just dump all of the crap on us!Ummmm, what was the question?

I keep forgetting about that show, stumbled on it once when I couldnt find anything better to watch. I saw the one where they tested the running or walking in the rain, also the dropping of a cigarette in the toilet .... took half a tin of gunpowder before anything happened, but it only blew the pants off the crash test dummie (who wasnt wearing a foilie)
