Clockwork sawyers
This is a 26" tall circa 1730 George II quarter striking automata bracket clock by James Smith of London (clockmaker to George III).
The interesting characters at the top of the dial go about their business as the pendulum swings..
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
