Warning - NZ runs out of Pancake Mix!!
Then there was the second disaster of the New Year Period.....
There we were, stocking up in Whangerai's Pak 'n Pay Supermarket for 10 days at sea, ticking off the list..... thought to make it easy we'd use those sweet little plastic bottles of mix that you just add fluid and shake to your heart's content.... couldn't find it so asked the checkout chicky/bloke/thing.
"Nuver hed thet in thus shop, sorry...... hevn't seen it bufore, probly don't hev it in Nu Zilland"
:eek: :eek: :eek: TEN days and NO pancakes!!!
Thankfully the girls figured if they were going to have to roll their own, they'd just as easily make scones each day...so they did!!

Argh, see mate you were in wrong part of the country! I found what could be described as some of the nicest pancakes available to mankind while on the west coast of the Sth Island only just a few days ago

I don't believe it. Here I am reading this ...ahhh...mm..thread and SWMBO is reading to me an article from a glossy/girly mag...the article??? "Why you should use buttermilk in your pancakes instead of normal milk"...Just for once I'm really lost for words:confused:
