Default Cricket is a simple game

Taken from the letters page of the Sydney Morning Herald:

There are two teams, one in and one out. The team that is out goes in and the team that is in stays in except for the two who are in - they go out. When a player who is in gets out he goes in and the next person in comes out to go in. When the team that is in gets out it goes out and the team that is in stays in, except those who are in.

    Quite simple, really.

    Yeah I saw that too.

What the letter writer omitted to say was that description has been around since Bradman was a boy.

I've even seen it printed on tea towels

I liked Bill Bryson's take on the game in 'Down Under'. Bloody funny.

With all this bowling maidens over there 's got to be a lot of in and out.

There has been several clever little skits like this, I did a quick search for one about politicians but I can't find it in a hurry... it was something about a prospective member standing to run & sit & then the sitting member had to rise to stand & run to be able to sit again.

If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
