Let's test the theory
Reading the why don't they fix something or other sections of this forum I think it is about time we put our actions where our mouth is.
This forum has produced a lot of clear thinking clever analysists of the problems of the country. It also has a national contribution.
How about we agree on a topic that affect Australians as a nation and we determine the politician we canvas and then all send emails in support of our campaign.
I don't want to lead the charge, but I would like to prove that society (you and me) can make changes.
what do you reckon folks?

Now there is something worth studying.
If you can do it - Do it! If you can't do it - Try it!
Do both well!

Problem - How to reduce the number of plastic bags going into landfill.
Idea - Reduce the number of plastic carry bags handed out by supermarkets by getting customers to use reusable shopping bags.
Measure - The number of bags used by Supermarkets is reduced therefore the number going into landfill is reduced.
Problem (after Gov pats itself on back) the number is not reduced as the sale of garbage bags has increased to the same extent as the reduction in usage of shopping bags.
Winners - Shops now save money on plastic bags. Make money on sale of garbage bags and green shopping bags. Public think they are doing good.
Discuss pro and con - "We have been conned"
