    Default Wasn't Oprah available

Michael Parkinson giving the National Australia Day address? Does that sound weird to anyone else?
    Cheers,

Yes. Pretty odd, but Rolf was painting the spare bedroom, James Morrison had to polish his instrument, Ricky was busy practising with his ball and Michael was the only one they could get at short notice.

Besides which, it was only at the Conservatorium of Music in central Sydney. Not the real thing .

Well, we couldn't use someone like the Australian of the Year as they might make an embarrassing speech about lack of funding for mental health or some other government of the day 'rather not hear' message....

I haven't heard the entire speech, but I did think it strange that Parky should be invited to make it. All I heard was the sound bite about Australia inevitably becoming a republic.

I rather liked his new words to Yellow Submarine. I wonder if knights can be retrospectively deknighted? Maybe he is planning on be deported to the colonies anyway?
