Hi all,

I am in the process of replacing an old flat roofed carport with something a little better constructed. I have already constructed the framing (welded steel frame) and now want to put a hipped roof on top and tie this in to the house. Whilst I have had a bit of carpentry experience (not roofing though) and I am pretty confident that I could work out the setout of the roof from books (eg the small red roof carpenters guide) I am considering getting a roof carpenter in to give me a hand in the setup. The purpose would be both to ensure I get it right the first time and also get the chance to learn from the experience. I expect it might take an experience roof carpenter about half a day to set out the roof (ridge, hips and one valley) and I am happy to pay or reciprocate with assistance. Can anyone recommend a good roof carpenters in Perth who might be interested and willing to share some of their roofing knowledge and experience?
