The truss frame manufacturer layed out the specs for putting up the trusses and supplied all needed to brace to house and deck posts.
now these deck posts are becomming rooms.
I questioned the bloke who did it, in regard to the tie down on the corners of the deck supporting the new hip roof only specified triple grip to corner connection which I attached to the LVL lintle they designed.
So I now understand (sort of how the tie down works.)
Aaccording to truss dood the bugle screw is sufficient method to post (if it blows off then I say you told me it was OK?, by the way it has withstood 130klm hr winds and didnt budge fine crack along my nice plasterboard join I now have to redo). so this is more a techincal question now it is becomming a room.
I am building from the top down not the bottom up so its a fair bit different to get it right and not forget to put one on the bottom plte or something.
but If I built a house from scratch Ithe wall frames would have straps around the end of the wall corners and tied down from there.
So if I add onto the back of a house then I should nominate the tie down points(line of connection) say corners and tie down through the studs until I hit foundation. Now what happens if this tie down straight line crosses a opening (window/or door)
