How do I put a gutter on this old roof.

Please talk slowly and use big handsignals, because I wouldn't know noggin from a plumb line...

I just don't like the water going on the ground and then making puddles in the shed...

So, it's an old corrigated iron roof.
I can see the timber that comes down under the iron, are they called rafters?

I bought that white plastic guttering it's about 110mm across the bottom. And a bunch of the clip/hook things to fix it on with.
I got the end caps, and the downpipe joint bit, and the 90mm downpipe, and y joiner to hook in to the other joiner. So I just don't know how to get that bit of gutter up under where the water falls off.

I imagine I have to get a bit of timber that buts against the rafter ends. and then fix the gutter to that.

But what type of timber, and will I need to paint it to stop it rotting. and what do I fix it up there with?

thanks everyone...
