Termite Damage Advice.
Hi, we are currently looking at buying a brick house in the lower blue mountains, the real estate told us that it had previous termite damage, and that the owner has dropped $45,000 off the price to cater for the damage.....we just had a pest inspection done, and it has come back that there are no active termites, and it has been treated, but that the top plates on the walls in the main room , bathroom ,and 1 bedroom have been badly damaged, also the top plates in the hallway ......we love this house alot, and could see us living their for a life time, but are not sure whether to buy it now or not....my husband works in the construction industry and would be able to get it fixed , for half price of what the owner got a quote for, but im not sure if we would be buying trouble or if we should bite the bullet fix the problem.....All I know is that we would not be able to get a house in that area for anywhere near what we would be buying this for.......
