hi all
Russell is the name
Been looking through the new members and sound like you lot come from most every type of work there is. This sound like there is plenty of good advice for when i bite of more then i can chew. This does happen every now and then.
Well me
I started in the fibreglass industry and vacuum forming, moved onto mould and pattern making left that for the outdoors in landscaping building. this lead to renovating houses
Then back to fibreglass with my own company doing castings for trophies, RTM for mobile phone antenna covers. When that rush ended move onto part ownership of a telecommunication firm, sold that. Since then been lofing around, sometime give a mate a hand when he is flat out with commercial joinery and install.
My son talk me into the cnc world (This was not hard work on his part) and we bought a H/F HM 45 mill and converted it Those who are interest can go to

up date to that post We have now balanced the head with a air cylinder and air reserve. Works great.
We mainly did the conversion to build bits for our combat robots, we don't actually have one at the moment but if any of you guys are interested check out "http://www.robowars.org/forum/" We are "The Planners" over there Valen and Russell, currently with Plan-G
last round videos "http://www.robowars.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1493&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=104"
The future
We are planning to build a gantry style of mill/router work area of 1200 square.
Make bit and pieces for cnc to make life easer. First one is a tool height gauge, You can see this at
"http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showthread.php?p=806018"
Of late I find my self making as many wood bits as metal bits so I thought I would join you lot as for when I find my self stuck I can holler and if any of my knowledge can help I'am willing to throw my two cents worth in.
Thank

Thanks for the welcome
Your metal side is very interesting but I do look at the wood side to get ideas for new projects.
Last project yesterday was;
I just put a new door frame, door and security flyscreen on the shed (left overs from house reno). The old one was a internal door outside need not say any more.vapourforge.com
