Sheila's Shed
I belong to the Kempsey Sheilar's Shed. The Men's Shed were only using the shed two days with the disabled kids from the high school one day and were looking for someone to use the shed on other days. They opened it up to the ladies and in the true Aussie sprit we called our time the Sheilar's Shed. We meet on Tuesdays and have someone from the Men's Shed there to guide us. We have made a veriety of items from the restoration of an old chair, bread boards, bird boxes, bench seats, toilet seats, coffee table, flower pot holders, fold up picnic tables and I am now making a dinning table. Some of the ladies had never used a hammer before and when they get to use a drill life is so exciting!! We use all the tools in the shed and personally I am now the owner of a drill press, mitre saw, router to name a few. It is the best thing that has happened for me they are such a happy supportive group and when the men come to see what we are doing they are very encouraging. We are All one big group and share the efforts for the garage sale days and general fund rising a promotions. Our ages range from 50's to mid 70. My week focuses on Tuesdays and I try to have all my home chores completed by Friday so I can have the weekend to work in my shed.

Good on you all! Look forward to seeing photos of your progress - however small.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Sounds like an excuse for a run up to Kempsey.
